Furtado, via Twitter, said she received the money for a 45-minute performance at a hotel in Italy.
The tweet did not say where, exactly, the money will go.
Details of the Gadhafi's spending on pop stars surfaced in news reports based on the Wikileaks cables. With besieged dictator Moammar Gadhafi now using violence to hang on to power, the revelations could prove embarrassing to other entertainers who took paychecks from Libya’s ruling family.
Usher, Beyonce and Mariah Carey also gave private performances at parties thrown byGadhafi's sons.
