Kremlin officials are happy with how last month's summit between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin went, according to a new report.
CNN cited intelligence officials from the United States and other Western nations as saying the Russians are "pleased" with the results of the Helsinki summit.
The assessment did conclude, however, the Russians are still waiting for the Trump administration to put in place additional policies that are more Russia-friendly.
CNN noted the Kremlin is happy with the joint press conference Trump and Putin held, during which Trump drew fire from both sides of the political aisle when he denounced the entire Russia investigation.
Special counsel Robert Mueller is probing whether the Trump campaign had an improper relationship with the Russians, but the investigation is also looking at Russia's interference in the 2016 U.S. election — which has resulted in more than two dozen indictments of Russian nationals and entities.
