A dozen members of the intelligence gathering staff of the Koch brothers have been laid off,
BuzzFeed reports.
According to the website, the layoffs are related to a restructuring plan that puts the unit under the Freedom Partners umbrella group that is in charge of the political and policy activities of Charles and David Koch.
Those who were laid off have the opportunity to apply for other jobs in the Koch network, which employs 12,000.
"We are constantly looking for ways to increase efficiency, optimize our efforts, and to ensure we have an operation that will help us build a movement of millions to advance our issues and reverse the trajectory of what is quickly becoming a two-tiered society," Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce spokesman James Davis said.
