House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has "lost control" of both her temper and of the Democratic Caucus, presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway said Monday, while criticizing the California Democrat for making "awful, incendiary" comments about President Donald Trump while he was overseas.
"She doesn't have control of her temper when it comes to the president and she doesn't have control over her caucus," Conway told Fox News' "Fox and Friends," after Pelosi last week said during a meeting with Democrats that she'd rather see Trump "in prison" than being impeached.
Conway also slammed Pelosi for showing "audacity" when she told MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell that she would not criticize Trump or talk about impeachment while she was outside the country in Normandy to observe the 75th commemoration of the D-Day invasion.
Pelosi and other top Democrats are under "enormous pressure" from the Democratic far-left to pursue impeachment proceedings against Trump, said Conway, while voters want them to work with Trump instead.
Conway also argued that Democrats may lose in 2020, which would mean Pelosi would have to step down as speaker.
"She was only a two-term speaker last time," said Conway. "If they go too far left, if they don't do anything at all, she may be a one or two-term speaker again."
