House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is facing a "major divide" in the Democratic Party over the issue of impeaching President Donald Trump, Fox News senior judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano said Monday.

"The radical Democrats want to impeach the president whether there's a basis or not, just to torment him," Napolitano said. "The more sober-minded ones realize that impeachment is half legal and half political, and the political half needs to be bipartisan."

The judge stressed "You don't impeach a president because he's temporarily unpopular, you impeach him for the bases articulated in the Constitution, which doesn't appear to be here."

Napolitano emphasized "The Democrats have a problem when people in their caucus in the House of Representatives can use this [talk of impeachment] as cavalierly as you talk about the weather."
