MSNBC "Morning Joe" hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski Monday said they're concerned about the ages of all 3 men running for president during the spread of coronavirus, given their ages and potential underlying health conditions.
"The three men who are most likely to be the next president of the United States are all in their 70s," Scarborough said of President Donald Trump, former Vice President Joe Biden, and Sen. Bernie Sanders. "At least two of them are not in peak health. They have underlying conditions. The president, of course, is obese. He's not in good shape."
“You can see by the morbid obesity,” Brzezinski chimed in. “That is clear.”
“You can see the obesity, you can see by his diet that he is not healthy,” Scarborough agreed. They admitted they didn't know about Biden's cardiac health, but noted Sanders had a heart attack within the past year.
Scarborough pointed out that many of Trump's supporters are in their 60s and older, and warned the president that he needs to "start telling the truth every day."
"You need to stop tweeting out conspiracy theories," he said. "You need to stop talking about your ratings...your lies, your hopes that cruise ships can cruise around forever and go in circles and not reach shore, well, first of all, it's cruel to the Americans trapped on the cruise ship, but secondly, it doesn't change the reality that's happening right here in the United States of America."
He also warned Trump that his older supporters " are going to go to their doctors and doctors will say you’re lying. They’ll believe their doctors over you."
Brzezinski further said that many of Trump's actions, such as with Ukraine and his "weird relationship with Russia" are not something that is a tangible threat to his supporters, but coronavirus is different.
