Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas, outed one of his donors in a bid to shame supporters of President Donald Trump, Fox News is reporting.
Castro, who is chairing the presidential campaign of his twin brother Julian, had revealed the names of San Antonio, Texas contributors to Trump.
But Wayne Harwell, one of the Trump donors, told the news network he also donated money to Castro's congressional campaign.
"I was also on a list of people that gave to Castro and if he dislikes me enough that he wants to put my name out there against Trump, I'm not going to give money to him," Harwell told Fox News. "Obviously, Castro feels pretty strongly against me."
And he added: "I'm pretty independent, but I support Trump."
Fox News, citing Federal Election Commission records, said Harwell donated $1,000 to Castro's campaign in September 2011.
In a Monday tweet, Castro posted the names and wrote: "Sad to see so many San Antonians as 2019 maximum donors to Donald Trump."
The tweet listed 44 individuals and their occupations under the headline, "Who's Funding Trump."
