Nikki Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, said Tuesday she believes the nation's embassy in Israel should be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
In an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network news channel (CBN), Haley's position echoes that of President Donald Trump's campaign vision for an embassy move to Israel's capital.
Earlier this month, Vice President Mike Pence said the Trump administration was continuing to give "serious consideration" to such a move.
"Obviously, I believe that the capital should be Jerusalem, and the embassy should be moved to Jerusalem, because if you look at all their government is in Jerusalem," Haley told CBN's chief political correspondent, David Brody on his show, "The Brody File."
"So much of what goes on is in Jerusalem, and I think we have to see that for what it is."
Trump will be in Israel next week on the first foreign trip since his inauguration – and speculation has mounted he would make an announcement on the embassy's move during the visit.
