AG Sessions: Stopping Fentanyl From China 'Absolutely Critical' in Opioid Fight

Attorney General Jeff Sessions told Newsmax TV on Thursday that stopping fentanyl from China is "absolutely critical" to destroying the opioid crisis in the United States.

"I have met with the Chinese delegation twice," Sessions told "The Todd Schnitt Show" in an interview. "The president has talked with the top leaders in China."

He added that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein "has been to China to deal with this specific issue.

"We've gotten a lot of promises of improvement," Sessions told Schnitt. "We think some of that might be followed-up on."

However, "we've just got to see it," the attorney general cautioned. "We have to see the results, which we haven't."
