A Jeb Bush super PAC is unlikely to raise $100 million by the end of the month, as was widely predicted, a sign that the former Florida governor may have a tougher go of securing the GOP nomination for 2016.

The Washington Post
quoted unnamed sources close to the the Right to Rise super PAC suggesting that they are expected to report mid-July figures that are "substantially lower than the nine figures that senior Republicans have anticipated."

Bush is widely expected to announce his campaign for the presidency on Monday in Miami.

Bush's campaign operatives have been touting the candidate's fundraising prowess, suggesting that he could break fundraising records this campaign season.  And suggesting that after Bush announces on Monday, he would embark on a massive fundraising tour called '27 in 15,' a challenge to donors to give $27,000 in the last 15 days of June.

Bush has been revamping his campaign team as polls show him with lukewarm likeability. He is at or near the top of Republican polls, but has been unable to break away from a host of challengers for the nomination. Many conservatives remain skeptical of Bush, who was Florida governor from 1999 to 2007.
