Chaffetz on Clinton Foundation Keeping Weinstein Money: 'No Excuse For This'

(Fox News)

There is no reason for the Clinton Foundation to keep money from Harvey Weinstein, the movie mogul accused in multiple cases of sexual harassment, according to Jason Chaffetz, former Utah Republican congressman.

"There's no excuse for this . . . She's arguing that she wants to lead with women and women's issues. And then this issue comes up and she's like, 'No, I'm going to go ahead and keep that money,'" Chaffetz said Monday, referring to Hillary Clinton, on "Fox & Friends."

Clinton Foundation officials said that they would not repay around $250,000 in donations that Weinstein gave to the foundation.

"We are a charity. Donations, these included, have been spent fighting childhood obesity, HIV/AIDS, combating climate change, and empowering girls and women, and we have no plans to return them," the foundation said in a statement.

After a number of actresses revealed that they had been victims of harassment by Weinstein, a number of Democratic lawmakers — including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. — announced that they would return money Weinstein donated to them.
