The Islamic State (ISIS) executioner known as Jihadi John forced one hostage to dance the tango with him before subjecting him to beatings,
CNN reports.
Daniel Rye described the sadistic treatment earlier this week on the television broadcaster DR in his native Denmark.
"He picked me up and I had to dance the tango, John and I," the 26-year-old Rye said. "My head was down and afraid of being beaten. He led me around the prison. Suddenly, he changed and just pushed me down. They kicked and hit me. They finished by threatening to cut my nose off with pliers and things like that."
The ISIS member, known popularly as Jihadi John for his British accent heard in videos where he beheads Wesern hostages, has been identified as Mohammed Emwazi.
Former CIA analyst Aki Peritz told CNN that many ISIS recruits and leaders are sadists.
ISIS supporters online have been gleeful over the story, Michael Weiss, co-author of
"ISIS: Inside the Army of Terror," told CNN, because they see a moral equivalence between the treatment of their jihadist prisoners by the United States and their own treatment of Western prisoners.
