A new poll finds that seven out of 10 Americans view the Iranian government as an enemy.
Surveyed just hours after the US announced it had thwarted an alleged plan by Iran to assassinate Saudi Arabia's ambassador on American soil, some 69 percent of Americans viewed the Iranian government as an enemy of the United States, while 14 percent did not and 18 percent had no opinion, according to
Poll Position.
Poll Position’s telephone survey of 1,090 adults nationwide was conducted on October 11, 2011 with a margin for error of plus or minus 3 percent.
Since the results are based on a tally of participating Poll Position users and not a nationally representative sampling, the results are considered unscientific but appear to reflect deepening resentment toward the Iranian government.
