President Donald Trump took a swipe at two of his favorite targets — The New York Times and The Washington Post — Friday morning regarding their coverage of an Obama administration lawyer being indicted.
The day after attorney Greg Craig, who served as former President Barack Obama's top White House lawyer, was indicted for lying to federal investigators and violating a lobbying law, Trump slammed the aforementioned newspapers for how they promoted the story.
"President Obama's top White House lawyer, Gregory B. Craig, was indicted yesterday on very serious charges," Trump wrote on Twitter. "This is a really big story, but the Fake News New York Times didn't even put it on page one, rather page 16. @washingtonpost not much better, 'tiny' page one. Corrupt News!"
The Times did include a mention of the Craig story on the front page of its Friday edition. On the index strip at the bottom of the page, a small block of text teased the story and directed readers to page A16.
The Washington Post put its story on Craig's indictment on the bottom half of its front page, with just over two paragraphs appearing before jumping to page A4.
