U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., took to Twitter on Friday to poke at President Donald Trump over a news report that his latest poll-approval rating was lower than hers and the other three Democratic members of "the Squad."
"Sending our condolences to the president!" the first-term congress member said in a post that included an emoji illustrating that one is "rolling on the floor laughing."
The tweet included a Newsweek report on The Economist/YouGov poll released Friday showing President Trump with a net approval rating of -11.
By contrast, Omar's net rating was -6, while the other freshmen "Squad" members each had a -3 rating: Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, N.Y.; Rashida Tlaib, Mich.; and Ayanna Pressley, Mass.
The Economist/YouGov poll queried 1,500 adults between July 21 and 23, a week after Trump first slammed the representatives for their attacks on his administration — saying in a July 14 tweet that the four should "go back" to their ancestral homelands.
The representatives are American citizens, and three were born in the U.S. Omar fled the war in Somalia with her parents, arriving in America as a refugee in 1992 when she was 12 years old.
