Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton will break her silence with the national media Tuesday, when she will give the first nationally televised interview of her second presidential campaign to CNN senior political correspondent Brianna Keilar.
Clinton has fielded questions from reporters and given some interviews to local news stations while paying visits in the early voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire,
reports CNN, but she has not granted any national interviews since she announced her candidacy in April.
Keilar will interview Clinton in Iowa City, where the former secretary of state is stumping, just days after her campaign came under fire for having aides use a rope to keep reporters and videographers from getting to close to her during an
Independence Day parade in New Hampshire.
Meanwhile, Keilar's exclusive access to Clinton is being questioned by some media pundits. Keilar recently attended the wedding of Clinton's grassroots engagement director, Adam Parkhomenko, to Kirby Hoag, who is deputy operations director for the Ready for Hillary super PAC.

It also comes after Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders drew a record number of supporters to a Wisconsin rally, and as his poll numbers are surging.
According to a
CNN/ORC poll conducted on June 18-24 in New Hampshire, Clinton's lead was down to just 8 percentage points over Sanders, with 43 percent choosing the former first lady and 35 percent choosing the senator.
Her lead in Iowa is 52 percent to Sanders' 33 percent, a new
Quinnipiac poll shows, with support for Sanders nearly doubling over that shown in a previous poll.
On Monday, Clinton campaign communications director
Jennifer Palmieri told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" show that the campaign is worried about Sanders' challenge, as "he'll be a serious force for the campaign. We think that will — I don't think that will diminish."
Clinton is often described as being the "presumptive nominee," said Palmieri, but "we don't normally say that, and the start will be really competitive."
The interview, to be taped earlier in the day, will air Tuesday on CNN’s "The Situation Room" at 5 p.m. and then again on "Anderson Cooper 360" at 8 p.m. EDT.
