Hillary Pal Demands CBS Reopen Probe of Benghazi Report

David Brock, a longtime liberal ally of Hillary Clinton, is putting pressure on CBS News to reopen its investigation into its discredited Benghazi report.

Brock is the head of the American Bridge PAC, which is dedicated to getting Clinton into the White House in 2016. He is also the founder of the liberal group Media Matters, attacking any outlet that reports negative stories on Clinton.

Politico reports that he has written a letter to CBS News President David Rhodes and "60 Minutes" executive producer Jeff Fager, demanding that they reopen their probe into the story first reported by Lara Logan on "60 Minutes."

He cited a recent New York Magazine story that said CBS' internal investigation into their initial story was "not thorough, was wrong on critical points, and omitted key facts — facts that would have revealed that Logan's report was tainted by partisanship and unprofessional conduct."

The Oct. 27, 2013 report by Logan came under fire after it was revealed that her eyewitness source, security contractor Dylan Davies, had given conflicting stories about where he was during the Benghazi attack in Libya that killed four people, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens.

Brock complained that Logan did not reach out to the FBI and the State Department about Davies, even though she initially said she did. She also made unsourced claims that al-Qaida was behind the attack.

On Nov. 11, she apologized for the report. But now, The Huffington Post reports Logan's job at CBS is in danger. It reports that 45-year "60 Minutes" veteran Morley Safer is demanding Logan be fired, and CBS has forced her to cancel recent speaking appearances.
