Orrin Hatch says Google is dead wrong about him having passed away – and the veteran senator from Utah was having a good laugh as he went to extraordinary lengths to prove it.
"Hi Google? We might need to talk," Hatch's office posted on Twitter early Tuesday after the search engine giant had him listed as having died on Sept. 11, 2017.
The office then proceeded to post photo after photo of Hatch recently meeting with various dignitaries from German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Motown great Smokey Robinson.
Another picture showed Hatch at his desk reading a copy of The Washington Post. It was captioned: "Catching up on the news this morning, grateful to be alive."
And there are videos.
In one, the 84-year-old lawmaker is seen signing a bill. In another he's seen entering a restaurant, with the image captioned, "Senator Hatch making an important state visit to Chuck A Rama in May."
Additionally, there’s picture of Hatch's birthday bash in March where "the theme was bacon."
And Hatch's office also touted three pieces of legislation he advanced "in the brief period the internet pronounced Hatch dead."
The bizarre error has since been corrected.
