The White House has asked various government agencies to make a list of programs that would be severely impacted by the ongoing shutdown if it goes into March and April.

According to The Washington Post, acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney wants the information by Friday — the day the shutdown will reach five weeks in length.

President Donald Trump and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are deadlocked over funding for a border wall, a squabble that has prevented Congress from passing legislation that would fund and reopen the government.

Pelosi is not allowing Trump to deliver the State of the Union address next week, which prompted the president to say he is working on an "alternative" plan.

Roughly 800,000 federal employees will miss their second paycheck this week as the shutdown drags on.
