Americans celebrated the country's 241st birthday Tuesday in true red, white, and blue fashion — with fireworks, hot dogs, and parades.

President Donald Trump and family attended a military picnic at the White House, while thousands turned out at Coney Island in New York to witness the traditional Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest.

The night capped off with colorful fireworks displays from New York to Washington.
