Federal authorities said that an ISIS supporter planned to attack the U.S. Capitol during President Barack Obama's 2015 State of the Union speech.

CBS News reports that Christopher Lee Cornell pled guilty to three federal charges, including offering material support to a foreign terrorist organization, attempted murder of U.S. officials and employees, and a firearms charge.

Prosecutors are seeking a 30-year prison sentence for Cornell. He was arrested in January 2015 after buying two M-15 assault weapons and ammunition at a gun shop.

Cornell called a TV station from jail in March 2015, and said if he had not been arrested he would have gone to Washington and shot Obama in the head.

"I would have put it to Obama's head, I would have pulled the trigger, then I would unleash more bullets on the Senate and House of Representatives members, and I would have attacked the Israeli embassy and various other buildings," Cornell said, Fox19 reports.

"I'm with the Islamic State. I'm very dedicated to establish the Sharia in America."

Cornell grew up in the Cincinnati suburbs and lived with his parents before he got arrested. He told the TV station that ISIS is "in every state."

"We're more organized than you think," Cornell said.

U.S. District Judge Sandra Beckwith scheduled sentencing for Oct. 31.
