Romney Raises $170 Million in September With Republicans

Republican nominee Mitt Romney and allied party committees raised more than $170 million last month and reported $191 million in the bank.

The numbers were released in advance of Romney’s campaign finance report due at the Federal Election Commission on Oct. 20.

For the second straight month, Romney and the Republicans trailed President Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee in total fundraising.

The president and the Democrats brought in $181 million last month.
