The head of the Republican National Committee taunted her Democratic counterparts after the party said an attempted hack of its voter database was just a test.
The Democratic National Committee had reported the potential breach on Wednesday, but it was revealed it was just a test conducted by the Michigan Democratic Party, according to The Hill.
“I guess the Democrats still haven’t figured out how to talk to people in Michigan,” RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel tweeted.
President Donald Trump won the state in 2016 by just over 10,000 votes — the first time a GOP presidential nominee won the state in 28 years.
Politico reported as a result of the false alarm, the DNC will now require state parties to give them a heads up before any future tests.
Brandon Dillon, the chair of the Michigan Democratic Party, described the test as a “misstep” born out of an “abundance of caution,” The Hill reported.
