D'Souza: Obama Wants US to Be Just Part of 'Multipolar World'

By    |   Monday, 10 March 2014 10:40 PM EDT

President Barack Obama would probably be happy if everything moved toward a "multipolar world" with multiple "vortexes of strength," one "in which America was just one power at the great dining table of nations," says Dinesh D'Souza.

D'Souza, appearing Monday on Fox News Channel's"The Kelly File," said Obama has a very specific ideology. He questions why America should be the dominant power in the world.

The United States has only 5 percent of the world's population yet consumes 25 percent of the world's gross national product. Many leftists find those numbers disturbing, D'Souza said.

His latest film, "America," is to be released July 4 and challenges the left's view that the United States has too much power in the world, he said.

"I'm an immigrant, but I love America," D'Souza told Kelly. "I chose America."

D'Souza said his film explores why America is a great nation, and looks at why some people are hostile to the principles that founded the country. The film includes "the most thoughtful, the most vituperative leftists," he said. "We don't silence anybody's voices."

He called the focus of the film "a clash between the anti-Americanism of the radical '60s" and his own perspective, "a first-generation immigrant who chose America because it's a place where I can be the architect of my own life."

D'Souza was charged in January with campaign fraud in a case that he and supporters have suggested was political payback for his 2012 film, "2016: Obama's America."
