Israeli forces should protect the country's citizens against attacks by Palestinians, but the main issue in the conflict is "incitement," Danny Danon, Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, tells
Newsmax TV.
"The main issue is the incitement," Danon told "The Steve Malzberg Show" in an interview Thursday. "The incitement of leaders of the Palestinians who don't really care about talking to the prime minister or negotiating.
"They care about inciting," he added. "They care about bashing Israel in the U.N., condemning Israel and not promote peace."

Danon cited the case of a 13-year-old Palestinian who was shot and wounded Monday by Israeli police during the stabbing of a two Jewish males, aged 13 and 24, in Jerusalem.
Palestinian's friend, 17, was shot dead in the assault,
The Telegraph reports. The death has been criticized by Palestinians as unjustified.
"This is boy is 13 years old," Danon told Malzberg, later explaining how someone so young could be swayed into attacking Jews.
"When this boy goes to school and opens a textbook, he reads against the Jewish people, demonizing the Jewish people, inciting against the Israelis.
"When he goes home, he hears the same voices," Danon continued, saying that they come from "television, the public — not the Islamic-Jihad television, not the Hamas, the Palestinian authority television — the public television."
And that's why the Israel must protect its citizens.
"You can't blame Israeli forces for defending the Israelis," he told Malzberg. "Those police officers did exactly what we expected them to do: to stop the violence, to stop the terrorists.
"That is the job of the police in Israel."
