Praising President Donald Trump's withdrawal from the Iran nuclear agreement, Israeli Counsel General in New York City, Dani Dayan, said the U.S. is now justly seeing Iran as the "problem" and not "the solution" in the Middle East.
"Even Syria and Lebanon, the problem we have is not Syria and Lebanon themselves, but the Iranian presence in Syria and Lebanon," Dayan told "The Cats Roundtable" 970 AM-N.Y. "Without Iran in Syria, we wouldn't have a problem from Syria.
"They use their stronghold they are now colonizing Syria in order to attack Israel. They did it already twice. We reacted, retaliated, and they paid a heavy price for that. But the problem is Iran in Syria and not Syria itself.
"The same applies to Lebanon.º
Dayan said former President Barack Obama's cash payments to pause — not end — Iran's nuclear program has been used to fund an "empire of aggression" and an "empire of Islamic fundamentalism."
"Iran is a rogue country," Dayan claimed to host John Catsimatidis. "Iran is the first and foremost promoter of terrorism all over the world."
Dayan also praised for the new U.S. strategy to now "impose crippling sanctions on Iran that will present them from continuing implementing its malicious design."
"We are very happy that the current American administration is changing course 180 degrees from seeing Iran as part of the solution to the problems of the Middle East, seeing that it is the biggest problem, the biggest enemy that stability, peace, America, Israel have in the Middle East," Dayan said.
