FBI Raids Homes of Suspected Hackers

Tuesday, 19 July 2011 08:03 AM EDT

FBI officials are searching the Long Island and Brooklyn homes of three suspected members of a hacking group that most recently targeted Arizona police officers in retaliation for that state's controversial immigration laws, FoxNews.com reports.

More than 10 FBI agents arrived at the Baldwin, N.Y., home of Giordani Jordan suspected of being a member of the notorious Anonymous group armed with a search warrant.

According to Fox, Jordan's system  is suspected of being used in the cyber attacks. All the suspects are in their teens to early 20s. All are inspired by Wikileaks and it's chief, Julian Assange, in the fight for internet freedom, authorities say. They have defaced sites, shut down servers and scrawled messages across screens across the web.

Most recently, Anonymous has been suspected of targeting the Arizona police department, posting personal information of law officers and hacking and defacing websites in retaliation to the state's controversial SB1070 immigration law.
