The crew on Fox News Channel's discussion show
"The Five" defended their employer Thursday against charges the channel sees media bias everywhere.
"Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd
told Media Matters earlier this week Fox News has an "obsession with trying to make everything about media bias. Whatever story, whatever angle, whatever stories is out there, there's always some sort of supposed media-bias angle to it."
"The Five" co-host Greg Gutfeld said that's exactly why Fox News was founded in 1996.
"Fox News wasn't created as something to fight liberalism. It was founded to fight bias, which was a documented fact in this industry," Gutfeld said.
Co-host Eric Bolling said Todd was "the pot calling the kettle black," especially since he gave the interview to "radical left-wing hack group" Media Matters, which targets conservative media.
Co-host Dana Perino was more generous than Gutfeld and Bolling, saying of Todd, "I agree that he is more neutral than most." Still, she pointed out, NBC and other broadcast networks have largely ignored the midterm elections this year because Republicans are expected to do well.
