"Helter skelter” cult leader Charles Manson has been hospitalized in California in the latest health crisis for the 83-year-old mass murderer, TMZ reported Wednesday.
"It's not going to get any better for him," one unnamed source told the outlet about the gravely ill Manson.
According to TMZ, Manson was rushed to a Bakersfield hospital three days ago, where he is undergoing treatment and is under guard by five uniformed police officers.
TMZ quotes unnamed sources saying Manson's health been steadily deteriorating, and "it's just a matter of time."
Manson, who has a crudely carved swastika on his forehead, ordered his cult followers to carry out attacks in and around Los Angeles. Among the victims was director Roman Polanski's pregnant wife, actress Sharon Tate. In all, he and his followers killed nine people at four locations in July and August 1969, USA Today noted.
Manson was hospitalized in January for intestinal bleeding that required surgical repair.
