Frank Vincent, 'Sopranos' and 'Goodfellas' Actor, Dies at 78

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - Frank Vincent, known for portraying Phil Leotard on "The Sopranos," has died, his "Sopranos" co-star Vincent Pastore announced on Facebook. He was 78.

TMZ reports that he died due to complications of heart surgery after a heart attack. John Gallagher, who directed Vincent in "Street Hunter," "The Deli," and "Animal Room," also posted the news on Facebook.

In addition to his work opposite James Gandolfini on "The Sopranos," Vincent also acted in several films with Martin Scorsese, including "Raging Bull," "Goodfellas," and "Casino."

Vincent also worked on the films "The Pope of Greenwich Village," "Wise Guys," Spike Lee's "Do the Right Thing," "Night Falls on Manhattan," and "Shark Tale."
