WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama condemned two suicide bomb attacks in Iran Wednesday as a "despicable offense" and said those who carried them out must be held accountable.

"This is a disgraceful and cowardly act," he said in a written statement. Obama said the United States stands with the Iranian people "in the face of this injustice."

"This and other similar acts of terrorism recognize no religious, political, or national boundaries. The United States condemns all acts of terrorism wherever they occur," Obama said.
