President Donald Trump sent out a tweet Monday morning slamming New York Governor Andrew Cuomo for his criticism of the administration’s response to the coronavirus crisis.
“There are no mixed messages, only political weaponization by people like you and your brother, Fredo,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
The president followed up that tweet with another message stating that “The Fake News Media and their partner, the Democrat Party, is doing everything within its semi-considerable power (it used to be greater!) to inflame the CoronaVirus situation, far beyond what the facts would warrant,” adding that the surgeon general says “The risk is low to the average American.”
Trump’s comments came after Cuomo told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” that people “don't know who to believe. They're not trusting their government. They're getting different messages. The fear is more dangerous than the virus.”
Cuomo also said that “the CDC was caught flat-footed” on testing for the coronavirus and that compounding this issue, “You have the president of the United States stand up and say, anybody who wants to test can have a test. And then you have the vice president stand up and say, we don't have the capacity to test.”
