Allen West: Obamacare Users Should Worry About Hackers

Tuesday, 03 December 2013 06:46 PM EST

The Affordable Care Act's troubled website may be working more effectively, but Americans must now worry about whether their personal information will be safe from hackers.

"[The administration has] created such a sense of desperation, they have had millions of Americans kicked off their healthcare plan; they don't have anywhere to go," West told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"Now, if they do choose to go to this healthcare exchange, which is still sporadically working, they risk the chance of their private, personal information being co-opted, and that puts them in even more of a desperate situation," West said Tuesday.

"This is a train wreck, as [Montana] Sen. Max Baucus said. It is not going to get any better."

He urged Republicans to kick back and let the Affordable Care Act crash on its own.

"I hope that a lot of my Republican allies and former colleagues are listening: [the Democrats] have walked into their own minefield. Don't help them, and don't show them the way out of it," West said.
