Kellyanne Conway: Schiff Part of 'Political Proctology Exam' Against Trump

By    |   Thursday, 18 April 2019 03:05 PM EDT

Rep. Adam Schiff took part in a "political proctology exam" while acting as a leading figure in the investigation into collusion between President Donald Trump's campaign and Russia, and should step down as House Intelligence Committee chairman, presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway said Thursday, after special counsel Robert Mueller's report was released.

"This has been a political proctology exam and [Trump is] emerging with a clean bill of health," Conway told Fox News' Harris Faulkner. "There's no other way to look at it."

She added that what Schiff and other Democrats have had to say, over "millions of words, thousands of hours on TV, on print, on Twitter, has zero legal significance. What matters is what the Department of Justice and the special counsel concluded here, which is no collusion, no obstruction and complete exoneration, as the president says."

Conway said she was the first to call publicly for Schiff to resign and she wanted to double down on it after he claimed he has evidence that proves there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

"He should produce the evidence that he says he has," said Conway. "He said we can't go into big details but it will come up. He has evidence that some how the special counsel couldn't find over 25 months and $35 million of our money. I want him to produce that. He ought to put up or shut up."

Conway, who had served as campaign manager for the last part of Trump's 2016 campaign, said Mueller's findings discredited claims that Trump defeated Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton with the help of Russia.
