Matt Damon's New Movie Has OPEC Link

Matt Damon is starring in the upcoming “Promised Land,” a film in which the American oil and gas industry is once again cast as the villain.

Woven throughout the plot of the movie is a carefully crafted message concerning a technique known as hydraulic fracturing or “fracking,” which is currently being used in the United States to successfully extract oil and natural gas from shale and other rock formations.

Through the cinematic mind massage, viewers who are susceptible to the media manipulation are led to believe that for the good of the environment the energy-related technology should be banned.

The agenda of the left, in which a sizable liberal contingent in Hollywood plays an ever increasing disseminating function, has at its philosophical core a goal of suppressing and/or eliminating selective technologies that would assist our country in moving toward energy independence.

Interestingly, one of the credited associate production companies and financiers of the upcoming Damon film just happens to have a financial interest in shaping American opinion regarding fracking.

“Promised Land,” which stars Damon, Frances McDormand, and John Krasinski, was produced in association with Image Nation Abu Dhabi, according to the credits on the preview trailer. The chain of title of the ownership of Image Nation leads back to the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

Image Nation Abu Dhabi, also known as Imagenation Abu Dhabi, was launched in 2008 as a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Media, which in turn is wholly owned by the government of Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), an OPEC member.

An OPEC member nation such as UAE would likely have a very different perspective on the film than would an unassuming moviegoer who happens to be environmentally inclined.

Fracking techniques have the potential to provide the United States with an enormous energy advantage. Through use of fracking technology, our country could conceivably experience a geometric increase in the amount of domestic oil, particularly shale oil, that is produced right here within our own shores.

Extraction of additional oil would serve to increase the world supply and provide a counterbalance to OPEC’s price fixing, which has been evident over the years. No doubt U.S. automobile owners would welcome the lower gasoline prices that would result.

American natural gas reserves could also experience a dramatic increase through use of the fracking technology. The U.S. could potentially have a 100-year supply of natural gas through utilization of the extraction technique, which would undoubtedly be to the disappointment of the OPEC nations and UAE in particular, which has the seventh largest supply of natural gas in the world.

It is important to note that Damon and his UAE producers have an ally in their quest to keep the U.S. energy dependent.

George Soros, a left-wing billionaire and avid supporter of ultra-liberal causes, provided financing to the Sundance Institute, which helped to release a documentary, “Gasland,” which also attempted to gin up fracking fears. It received an Oscar nomination for its agenda-driven content.
