1. Jim Cramer’s Jon Stewart Revenge

Apparently Jim Cramer can’t easily forget the shabby treatment he received at the hands of Jon Stewart when he appeared on “The Daily Show.”

Stewart ambushed the CNBC personality supposedly because of his overly rosy Wall Street assessments.

But some saw Cramer as being targeted by Stewart because of his criticisms of the Obama administration.

The Comedy Central star may need to watch his back because the “Mad Money” host just may have payback on his mind.

Cramer used strong terms to describe Stewart’s behavior.

“I tried not to take it personally, but it was so vicious,” he told Time magazine.

“The ultimate takeaway from the evening was, Jim, why didn't you defend yourself? And the answer is, I was trying to defend our network and take a high road and I didn't want to hit him with a chair or break his face or something like that. But he was very vicious,” Cramer commented.

Then he added what appeared to be some words of warning: “One day he'll answer for it.”

2. New York Representative Calls Jon Stewart’s Show a ‘Scam’

In a recent interview with City Scoops magazine, Anthony Weiner shared his less than complimentary feelings about Comedy Central host Jon Stewart.

The Democratic representative from New York knows Stewart in a way that no other member of Congress can claim: Years ago he was Stewart’s roommate.

Weiner contends that back in those days Stewart was “bumming off of my girlfriend.”

Now he views “The Daily Show” as a “scam” and believes Stewart’s program’s “entire ethos is to make fun of politicians.”

Weiner was asked about the acerbic attitude that has spread across society. His answer was aimed directly at Stewart.

“Do I understand why that cynicism exists?” he rhetorically asked. “Yes. I think it exists because of Jon’s show.”

Weiner added, “I think it accelerates itself. I think there becomes a feedback loop that’s corrosive.”

He also decried the way in which members of Congress who do dumb things are played up for doing the dumb things.

He explained that Jon would say, “Hey, I got a great scam here, lemme go find another congressman doing a dumb thing.”

What’s so unfortunate is that the pols make Stewart’s job so darn easy.

3. Arlen Specter Snags Some Hollywood Bucks

Republican Party turncoat Arlen Specter is being rewarded by Hollywood.

The buzz on the L.A. streets is that the Senate will be filibuster proof with the Dem additions of Al Franken and Specter.

A recent Tina Daunt article in the Los Angeles Times trumpets the following headline: “Arlen Specter is welcome on the Left Coast.”

An upcoming fundraiser for Specter, co-hosted by Michele and Rob Reiner and Janet and Jerry Zucker, has become such a “hot ticket” a larger venue may actually be needed.

The original event was designed to be a thank-you lunch for the Pennsylvania senator because of his support for embryonic stem cell research.

Longtime Hollywood political consultant Chad Griffin remarked that Specter “is coming to town as a celebrity now.”

4. Maya Rudolph Criticizes Her Own Michelle Obama Impersonation

Maya Rudolph, best known for being a “Saturday Night Live” cast member, is promoting a new film, “Away We Go.”

It’s a romantic comedy about a couple who travel across America trying to find the right home for their yet-to-be-born baby.

Rudolph, who also happens to be the daughter of the late Minnie Ripperton, is expecting a second child herself in real life.

She recently revealed that she’s not pleased with her impression of Michelle Obama on the NBC show.

“I haven’t heard from her since I did her on SNL, probably because, in my humble opinion, my Michelle could’ve been a million times better,” Rudolph admitted to Parade.com.

Putting it a bit more graphically, she added, “I thought my impersonation sucked because it was just thrown at me,” noting that “Mrs. Obama was really hard to do.”

Of course, Rudolph is a First Lady fan and describes her as “really cool.”

“I just didn’t know how to do her justice. I was trying to be fantastic, and it was just really hard,” she confessed.

She also did an imitation of Michelle’s husband that she promises will remain classified.

“But it [the Michelle impression] was better than my Barack Obama impression, which I had to do in front of him. That was terrible. So I’m glad that that did not make it on the air. You’ll never see it,” Rudolph said.

5. Janeane Garofalo Gets the ‘24’ Boot

The word on the streets of L.A. is that one of the most controversial characters on the hit TV show, “24,” will not be returning next season.

Janis, the Chloe wannabe, will apparently be booted off.

The tech geek character happens to be played by Janeane Garofalo, the not-so-funny actress who recently called Tea Party goers “racists” and “rednecks.” Longtime “24” watchers have been willing to put up with a bit of political correctness from the writers from time to time. They’ve even tolerated public service ads accompanying the show that sounded like they were written by Al Gore.

But Garofalo’s Tea Party comments really did it for a lot of the Fox show fans.

“24”’s Web site was deluged with posts suggesting ways to write Garofalo’s character off the show.

It looks like Fox execs are going to make it happen.

It could have something to do with wanting to keep an audience.
