Sunday, 02 February 2014 05:08 PM EST

Urinary tract infections are bacterial infections that affect the urinary system. The urinary system comprises of the bladder, kidneys, urethra, and sphincter muscles. It is responsible for producing, storing, and excreting urine from the body. Bacteria-caused urinary tract infections can affect the functioning of this system.

E. coli is the bacteria most commonly responsible for causing urinary tract infections. Urinary tract infections can affect any part of the urinary tract. Urine produced by the urinary system contains waste products. Infection of the urinary system can provide an environment where bacteria can easily develop in the urine.

Consuming plenty of water is among effective treatments. A bottle containing hot water can provide useful treatments for providing relief from pain.

Cranberry juice can be beneficial among UTI treatments. Cranberry tablets can also be used. People with a family history of kidney stones should avoid this method.
