The takedown of bank account-draining botnets over the past two years demonstrates that as the capabilities of cybercriminals are advancing, so is the ability of government to take down cybercrime rings. And with government now using the RICO statute to prosecute cybercriminals and getting help from Microsoft and other companies in tracking botnets, the balance of power has shifted in favor of law enforcement.
