LIGNET: Switzerland Will Be Forced to End Banking Secrecy

At the G-8 summit in Northern Ireland in mid-June, leaders of the First World strengthened their resolve to crack down on tax avoidance and put the maximum amount of pressure on Switzerland to end banking secrecy. If that pressure is sustained, it is likely that Switzerland will be forced to come to some sort of an accommodation, ending its reputation as the world’s number one tax haven.
