U.K. Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne said there are no discussions taking place on a second bailout of Greece, even though officials from the International Monetary Fund, the European Union and the European Central Bank are in Athens monitoring Greece’s progress in meeting terms under an earlier bailout.
The issue is whether Greece “lives up to commitments,” Osborne told lawmakers in the House of Commons in London today. “We should await the result of that assessment.”
