A Chicago activist may plead guilty in Detroit to failing to tell U.S. immigration authorities about her role in a deadly bombing in Israel in 1969.

Rasmieh Yousef Odeh is associate director at the Arab American Action Network in Chicago. There is a federal court hearing Wednesday in Detroit.

Odeh's attorney, William Swor, tells The Associated Press he is "engaging in serious negotiations which could lead to a guilty plea."

Swor says Odeh probably would have to leave the country. She entered from Jordan and became a naturalized citizen in 2004.

Odeh was convicted of an attack that killed two people at a Jerusalem market in 1969. She was released after 10 years in a prisoner swap with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
