DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — The United Arab Emirates' state news agency says 22 members of the Gulf nation's military have been killed while taking part in Saudi-led military operations in Yemen.
News agency WAM announced the deaths Friday, citing the general headquarters of the country's armed forces. The report did not say how or when the soldiers were killed. Military officials could not be reached for comment.
The seven-state Emirates federation is one of the most prominent members of the Saudi-led coalition, which aims to roll back gains by Yemeni Shiite rebels and their allies in the deeply impoverished Arabian Peninsula country.
