DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Qatar's largest bank says it is investigating an alleged data breach involving customers' information.
Qatar National Bank was responding to files circulating on social media that purport to show the personal information of hundreds of people, including staff at the broadcaster Al-Jazeera and members of the ruling family.
It said in a statement sent Wednesday that it was coordinating with "all concerned parties" to investigate the issue and says "there is no financial impact on our clients or the bank."
The bank did not say whether information in the files was legitimate or if its network had been breached, citing a policy not to comment on reports circulating on social media.
