David Rubin: Obama 'Outrageous' in Telling Israelis to Stay Calm

By    |   Wednesday, 19 November 2014 12:05 PM EST

The people of Israel are "very, very frustrated and very, very angry" about the ongoing terrorist attacks on the Jewish state, while President Barack Obama extols "a false evenhandedness" after every attack, David Rubin, the former mayor of Shiloh, Israel, said Wednesday on Newsmax TV's “America’s Forum.”

"Israel is going to have to go it alone," Rubin said. "I would like to see a more legitimate and more dignified response from (President Barack Obama), but I don't think we're going to see that. This is a president that has been the most hostile president towards Israel in history.

"Israel is going to have to take firm action against the Palestinian Authority, and if President Obama complains, we're just going to have to look the other way," he said.

Suggesting some kind of moral equivalency between the Israelis and Palestinians is outrageous, he said.

"Worshippers were left in a pool of blood by Islamic terrorists that went into the synagogue with a gun, with axes, and with meat cleavers, and chopped people to pieces and left them in a pool of blood," Rubin said.

Rubin was referring to Tuesday's deadly attack on worshippers at a Jerusalem synagogue by two Palestinians. Four men, three of them rabbis, died in the attack, and a police officer died later that day of wounds received in a shootout with the assailants outside the synagogue.

"I don't think that there's any moral equivalency here. I find it absolutely outrageous, absolutely disturbing, that the president of the United States would say that there should be calm on both sides.

"I don't see how he can call for calm from those who are being attacked, and that is us. That is the civilians of Israel."

It’s time the Palestinians are "called to task" for their actions, Rubin said, and that will require identifying the enemy: "The Palestinian Authority headed by Mahmoud Abbas and by the Fatah and Hamas terrorist organizations."

"This Palestinian Authority has been financing the terrorism, has been encouraging the terrorism, and has been inciting the terrorism," Rubin said. "It's time that we call them to task on this and not just complaining to the Americans, not just complaining to the EU and the UN.

"It's time that we take action and go into Ramallah, take down the Palestinian Authority headquarters, declare the Oslo Accords null and void, and declare the Palestinian Authority null and void."
