DARAA, Syria — The Omari Mosque, site of anti-regime protests last year, has been turned into a military base, with cement rooms that are home to dozens of soldiers, GlobalPost reports.
The snipers still are atop the highest buildings, and tanks and armored vehicles remain deployed inside the city as well as around most towns and villages where anti-regime protests have taken place, according to GlobalPost.
