The Biden administration has complied with much of everything Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has asked for in the war with Russia, sending billions of dollars in aid and heavy weaponry, including 31 M1 Abrams tanks.
With the some in the Pentagon quietly pushing to send fighter jets to Zelenskyy, Rep. Troy Nehls, R-Texas, told Newsmax's "Spicer & Co." on Monday that before long, the Ukraine president will be requesting American troops.
"I think Joe Biden has made it clear, he'll send them anything," Nehls said. "We're sending them everything they seem to be asking for.
"Eventually, [Zelenskyy] will be asking for the American warfighter, the American troops."
Nehls said he sometimes wonders "who really is the president of the United States? Is it Joe Biden, or is it Zelenskyy?"
Nehls said based on the Biden administration's conduct, he sees no end in sight for the war in Ukraine, which will mark its one-year anniversary Feb. 24. He said the weakness Biden has displayed is similar to that of former President Barack Obama, under whose watch Russia invaded and annexed Ukraine's Crimean Peninsula in 2014.
"Putin went in and took Crimea, a beautiful area down there in the south [of Ukraine]," Nehls said. "What happened? Nothing.
"Donald Trump becomes president. Putin doesn't even toy with Ukraine, doesn't go in. We got another weak president in Biden, and now [Putin] is back in Ukraine. This administration and past presidents have not displayed strength like we had in strength through peace with Donald Trump.
"Now the American people are paying for it with our resources, and if we're not careful, we're going to be drawn into World War III and then we'll have the American fighting soldier over there."
