What are the odds of two commercial passenger jets of the same make and belonging to the same airline company both disappearing from the skies and radar screens under unknown circumstances and only months apart?
The mystery of the Malaysian airliner that disappeared over Southeast Asia in March has been solved, according to a Russian television news report. It was the same plane shot down over rebel-held territory in Ukraine earlier this month. And, of course, it was all an American plot.
Or maybe it wasn’t. Another Russian report blamed Ukraine for shooting down the aircraft it mistook for the presidential plane of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
