North Korea’s announcement last week that it’s nullifying the 1953 armistice that ended the Korean War should not be taken lightly, even given its fondness for bombastic rhetoric. The announcement, and the fact that it just severed the communications hotline with South Korea and is threatening the United States with a nuclear strike, indicate that it is getting ready to take offensive action. The West must ready a response now.
