RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Brazilian police are at the home and other buildings linked to former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Federal police officer Jose Cyrispiniano confirmed Friday that the police are at addresses belonging to Silva, including the Instituto Lula, his nonprofit organization.

Brazil's O Globo news network ran images of police officials around a building they said was Silva's residence in Sao Bernardo de Campo, in greater Sao Paulo.

Cyrispiniano said police are acting on a warrant that requires Silva to answer their questions as part of the ongoing probe into corruption at Brazil's Petrobras oil giant

In a statement on their website, the police say they are carrying out 44 judicial orders.
