Ehud Barak Refutes his General, Says Pressure on Iran Not Working Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak was quick to walk back comments made by the head of the Israeli military this week about Iran not having decided whether to pursue nuclear weapons. Gen. Benny Gantz also clarified the comments he'd made to the press, saying his thinking was not at odds with that of Barak, his immediate superior, or Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Gantz's comments reflect the views of other senior Israeli defense and intelligence officials as well and indicate disagreement at the highest levels in Israel over what, if anything, is to be done about Iran . But they were not as dovish as they were made out to be by the Western media, which has a clear bias against a potential Israeli strike on Iran .

He points to the recent example of the failed missile launch.
“It was an embarrassment that they chose not to cover up,” said Hayden. “It suggests no change in policy, this is not something they would have preferred to have done, but I think there’s a realization now that they can no longer keep the North hermetically sealed from outside information, because of cell phones and travelers and DVDs and so on. Word of the failure would get out to the North Korean population.”
